PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
ENRICO MELIS’ (LAWYER) RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRENT FIELDS OF INTEREST:
Following a training period at law firms where the overarching focus was in Civil Law and Substantive Criminal Law, the lawyer Enrico Melis is currently mainly specialising in the following areas of Italian Law: Corporate Law with detailed study of issues within Private and Procedural International Law, Insolvency Law (participating in a training course for insolvency officers who took part in the collaboration with the Legal Foundation of the Bar Association of Florence in September 2016 and March 2017), Corporate Criminal Law.
His work also deals with Tax Law, Criminal Law and Penal Application Law, including Penitentiary Law, even Enrico Melis’ current interests are oriented towards principally social issues (corporate crises, civil, penal and tax repercussions), Intellectual and Industrial Property Law (Trade Mark Protection both within Italy and on an international level).
In particular, his interest in perfecting his studies in Industrial Property Law has led to him being nominated as a voluntary lecturer in the extremely prestigious young apprenticeship project called “Business in Action” (for more information, see http://www.impresainazione.it), which to this day has been accepted and recognised both on a national and an international level (post at the Istituto Tecnico Iti Ferraris – Brunelleschi Empoli in 2017).
These studies also being officially approved by the CISL Femca Prato – Firenze (Valdarno Fiorentino area), he also gained experience over the years in matters of Employment Law and Social Security Law, Corporate Law (including Criminal Corporate Law) with particular focus on insolvency procedures (participating in a training course for insolvency officers which will take place in collaboration with the Legal Foundation of the Bar Association of Florence in September 2016) and defence proceedings applied in civil and criminal cases.
Further fields of study interest currently held by Lawyer Enrico Melis refer to the National and International Legislation on Aircraft Systems and Remote Piloting (Drones).
Lastly, he collaborates with various professional bodies and firms in drafting immigration appeals (for example, appeals for the recognition of international protection).

Education and training
- Completed A-Level-style diploma in languages at the “Giovanni da San Giovanni” language college in San Giovanni Valdarno during the school year 1999/2000 – 88/100.
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Law on 13 February 2006 97/110 at the Faculty of Law in the University of Florence. The exams taken, as per the certificate issued from the University of Florence, specialised in criminal law. Bachelor’s Dissertation on criminal procedure with the title “Statements from individuals who cooperate with the judicial process and their use in trials”.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Training contract at the Law Firm Maggini – Giannelli – Bogani in Florence 5/4/06 - 5/4/08;
- On the Register of Trainee Stipendiary Magistrates at the Bar Association in Florence since 28/6/07.
- Further collaboration at law firms in Tuscany, in particular at Florence Law Firm Avvocato Gualtieri and later at the Mantelli – Del Pasqua Law Firm.
- 7/06/09 the first of various external collaborations with Firms in Florence, Arezzo, Grosseto and Rome, particularly legal aid in criminal matters or penitentiary law and simultaneously in corporate matters when tackling civil, criminal and tax cases and difficulties;
